Nefertiti - Michelle Moran
I knew from art history classes that there is not a lot left from the reign of Nefertiti and her husband, so I was very curious to see what the author would come up with. Ms. Moran did exceedingly well. She brought the period to life and painted it with color. We know from the archeological record that Nefertiti and her husband changed the style of art as they changed the god of Egypt. We know of their interaction with their neighboring countries. We know they were not popular by the fact that the people brought their city down and tried to destroy all evidence of them. It's the way Ms. Moran brought all the bits together and may history play again for us. I look forward to reading the next book, The Heretic Queen.
