What an amazing book! I really wasn't expecting much when I started this book, but I read it in one sitting. It's now 1:15 am. But once I got into the story of this young woman and her trials and tribulations, I couldn't get enough of it. She's on the edge of womanhood. Her family's come on some hard times. Lost some camels, money's tight, this, that and the other thing. Now, here she is betrothed, almost, to the tribe's heir. He's handsome, but as so often is true, rotten to the core under his pretty shell. Why is it okay for him to show his rotten side to her, though? I don't know, but he does. He notices the other guy looking at her. He notices her looking back. He threatens her and her family, he manhandles her. And then he gets mean. But if I keep going, you won't have any reason to read the book. That's called a spoiler. Now while you read Forbidden, I'm going to go read the sequel, Banished.
